EFFORT OR ENTITLEMENT

EFFORT OR ENTITLEMENT
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Consider:
John inherited a million dollars,
Steve earned it.
Sarah lives with a daily disability,
Karen enjoys perfect health.
Jim grew up in an oppressive environment.
Lynn enjoyed ease and stability.
Mike has fought with deep depression most of his life.
Jill has always been happy-go-lucky.
~~~
The individual most likely, in these scenarios, to undergo
Character development
Is the one who ….
Exerts effort,
Exercises discipline,
Exacts energy,
Engages difficulty,
Endures the exhausting …
With
Effort required
and
Entitlement absent.
~~~
Character is fostered in the furnace of affliction,
It’s not pleasant,
Enjoyable,
Easy
or
Fun.
But it is …
Rewarding,
Enhancing,
Enlightening,
Indescribably ….
Life changing good.

~~~
The thing that requires the most effort
In your life …
Will become the greatest character developer
Of your life.
~~~
Receive it,
Learn from it,
Grow from it,
Acknowledge it,
Welcome it,
Trust the hand …
That sent you it.
God will be faithful
To
The end of it.

~~~
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that you,
always having all sufficiency in all things,
may have an abundance for every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8
