GPS

GPS
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

My propensity for getting lost is something akin to amazing and the only reason I arrive at a given point is because of my faithful GPS. I find comfort in the familiar and distinct female voice that lets me know I am on the "Fastest route possible."
I enjoy the journey so much more with the knowledge that the GPS knows where I am in relation to where I'm going and, if followed faithfully, will complete my travels with the words,
"You have arrived at your destination."
I appreciate knowing that if I choose to get off on an exit, for any reason, my GPS is immediately employing a rerouting of my journey.
While I feel the language could be a bit more entertaining at times and a little bit of "color" might be contributed to the tone inflection, I'm grateful that the days of the road map are over and that I'm living in the days of GPS.

Look over the paragraph above for a moment and imagine that we exchange Global Positioning System for God's Positioning System and let's see how much applies to the spiritual arena:
Man's propensity for getting lost is something akin to amazing and the only reason we arrive at a given point is because of God's Positioning System. We can find comfort in the absolute and unchangeable truths that line the pages of His word and in the Spirit's prompt which lets us know with repeated assurance,
"Obedience is the best route possible,"
though not always the fastest.
The journey is enjoyed so much more with the knowledge that God knows where we are in relation to where we're going and, if followed faithfully, will accompany us on a journey with timely truths, encouraging words, and countless corrections given in love, to aid us in our navigation home.
We can appreciate knowing that if we get lost or choose to exit where we shouldn't have exited, that God will show Himself faithful and reroute us ... in order to get us to our true and final destination.
We can appreciate knowing that our final destination does not appear on the Global Positioning System because it's bigger than that;
It's an eternal Kingdom that will not rust, fade, or pass away, and made to last for forever.
God's Positioning System is the only system that leads man home.
We can be thankful for a positioning system that's bigger than ourselves and bigger than the one which gets us only to an earthly address.

Regardless of where you find yourself, my friend, shut out the voices that surround you and tune into God's Positioning System. Open up His word and trust the "prompting of the Spirit" to take you from where you are to where you need to be. God will utilize methods of  rerouting as agents of refining, and "with you,"
He will make the journey home.
"You are on the safest route possible."
