JULY 14 - Romans 8:28 and Genesis 50:19-20

DAY 14 - PROFILES AND PROMISES

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
Romans 8:28
and
"And Joseph said unto them, 'Fear not, for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.'"
Genesis 50:19-20
-----
Memory Catcher: Let's give Joseph the nickname Joe and utilize those three little letters:
 J-Jesus
O-Orchestrates or Orders
E-Everything
Jesus Orchestrates Everything;
Not some of the time and not most of the time ...
But all of the time and right on time.
Joseph's life is a classic example of the reality that,
No matter how crazy life gets,
 No matter what others do,
No matter where you land ...
God is sovereignly, majestically, and powerfully orchestrating the events of our lives for our good and His glory.
Praise God and Hallelujah!
-----
Is it possible that I am writing to one who is experiencing a fall-out of great proportion today?
Is it possible that "you" are questioning your usability and whether you possess the ability to be used of God?
Will He sustain you or does He disdain you?
Do you wonder these things?
Hmmm ...
I'd like to encourage you on the journey, wherever you might have landed, and remind you that God, indeed, has got His hand on you and His plan for you in place.
Your usability is based on His power at work within you and your ability to realize your "inability" will cause you to witness His perfect and timely ability.
God's power and glory will be manifest to you and through you as you seek His face, and praise God, you can do that in whatever place He has got you.
-----
God's work in Joseph's life and His work in our lives rarely comes in one big voluminous moment ... but in small moments and small increments, through seemingly negative conditions, and difficult, almost impossible odds.
Joseph went from a pit, to a prison, to a palace ... with increments of many years involved.
He didn't get to look, through the historical lens of Genesis, at the overview of God's work in his life.
Joseph had to wrestle and work things out with God while he found himself in a dark pit.
Joseph had to wrestle and work things out with God while he found himself in a prison.
And in the "aloneness and wrestling" a thing called intimacy was formed and in the end Joseph knew His God and God knew His man.
And in the end ... Joseph was made fit for the palace.
It wasn't a fun plan and it wasn't an easy plan,
But it was God's plan and it worked.
-----
We each face a "pit and prison" of our own in some way.
How we got there or why we got there is neither here nor there ...
In the end.
God is there and that's enough.
Wrestle, if you must, and work out the kinks in your faith and sink your soul into something larger than this temporary life.
God has got His hand on you and His plan for you in place;
The pit and the prison are preparing you for a palace;
A calling on earth is yet to be fulfilled and preparation for that calling is paramount to God's perfect display of His glory through you and to you.
Read the story of Joseph (Genesis 37-50) and own the promise (Romans 8:28) with a certainty that God has got His hand on you for all eternity ... and He will supply for you.
-----
Great and Mighty Father,
For present trials that seem insurmountable,
For pits and prisons that seem inescapable;
I give you praise that You are capable
 Of displaying Your power.
Let me wrestle out, with You, these weighty necessary matters, that are needful for humility and conformity of soul.
Let me trust you in the pit, and let me trust you in the prison;
and then, Father, lead me ...
To the palace.
Release a provision in my life this day that bears testimony to Your hand on my life and let me experience a growing intimacy with You.
To You and through You be all power.
Amen.
