MERCY IN THE MUDDLE

MERCY IN THE MUDDLE
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

We muddle about,
In these human shells;
Where fickleness hides,
And frailty dwells.
~~~
Reluctance to see,
To hear,
To admit
Our faithlessness;
Prevents a grace
From filling us.
These frail shells need mercy.
~~~
Mercy is the lodging place
Of the
Weak,
Sinful,
Weary,
Simple,
Longing,
Yearning,
Needy,
Fearful.

~~~
Mercy’s magnitude
Exceeds sin’s altitude.
It’s higher,
Deeper,
Wider,
Stronger,
Mightier,
Unfathomably ….
Measureless.
~~~
You are loved
Without merit ...
By the Almighty.
This is mercy.
~~~
“But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”
Psalm 13:5
