“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper;
But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Proverbs 28:13

 Confession of sin is not enough …
there must be a forsaking of it and a refusal of it in order for the beautiful imposition of mercy to be experienced.
Instant remorse without a change of conduct breeds great hypocrisy.
Whatever sins you have committed and confessed …
You must quit engaging in them.

The strategy for not returning to sin is to return to God and His holy word; to keep your heart and mind in tune with Him …
To forsake all else,
To follow only Him;
To speak His word aloud when next you’re tempted.
God rewards the heart that diligently works to secure His word within it.
He applies the weighty and wondrous compress of mercy where He sees a true renouncing and turning from sin.
Immerse yourself in the word and all that keeps you holy.
God will be faithful.
You have His word on it.
