ONE SMALL WIRE

ONE SMALL WIRE

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

The fact that central air was utilized for the first time this past week should give the reader the knowledge that I'm a Midwestern girl.
The air had a damp muggy feel beginning on Wednesday;
Humidity was high and its accompaniment of oppresive air notably felt in the house.
The switch for central air was flipped and the expectation for "soon relief" anticipated.
Nothing happened.
Prayer for wisdom was submitted and a "Google" help search applied:
1) We checked out the fuse box and the breaker system. Good.
2) We checked out the thermostat. Good.
3) We checked out the condenser unit and compressor. BINGO!
*The condenser is a device or unit used to condense a substance from its gaseous state to its liquid state by cooling it.
The learning and earning of this new knowledge (for me) almost made the issue worthwhile but Scot wasn't a fan (small attempt at a pun).
4) Blood pressure wasn't on the list but that was becoming problematic too.
-------
All attempts were made to remedy the issue and the problem remained.
We made a phone call to a serviceman who promptly appeared within twenty minutes and had the issue fixed within ten.
True story.
The culprit was a low-voltage faulty wire and was replaced in a matter of minutes.
The story ends with a cool house and an accompaniment of cool comfort.
Mmmm...
------
And I think, in similar fashion, we each have faulty wires "within" to deal with.
We can survive in the humid, oppresive atmosphere of sin's presence for only a while but the gnawing of the Holy Spirit will ultimately prevail and shut the "condenser system" down to a point that help is required and a Serviceman needed.
While confession runs counter to our fleshly protective instincts and our self-preserving nature it remains the hallmark and necessity of cleansing, renewal, and restoration within the soul.
Exposure and confession of sin is found pleasing to the Lord who forgives mercifully, graciously, and wonderfully ... and allows a testimony to spring forth of His timely deliverance upon the reception of it.
Only God can fix the internal faulty wiring system of man.
Only God.
Resist the urge to look to man for what only God has the power to provide, which is the blood of His One and only Son, Jesus.
Once we apply the redemptive qualities of God's truth and grace to our lives, we situate ourselves for an accompaniment of God's richest and truest blessings, and we share with others a testimony of the "Serviceman's" faithfulness.
And the whole man cools down and is restored.
Make a call to Jesus,
And allow Him to service you.
He'll fix the wires and you'll find yourself "wired,"
With a refreshing and timely testimonial.

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove them.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light; for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."
