RECOVERY AND DISCOVERY

RECOVERY AND DISCOVERY
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

"If My people which are called by My name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive theirs sin, and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
------
This life-changing truth has the power to change lives.
Repeatedly and in the most unusual and beautiful manner, it keeps appearing before me and speaking within me. God is using it and interpretting it through the presence and power of His Holy Spirit within.
I rejoice in this wondrous reality.
Years ago I memorized it and rehearsed it with a congregation;
My tongue could recite it at a given moment and I truly thought I had a handle on it and understood it.
I was wrong.
I didn't.
------
Many things have happened to translate this particular truth in me:
1)  Pride has been, of necessity, stripped away and dismantled. Like Nebuchadnezzar "put out to grass seven years" I have been humbled in extremely profound and necessary ways.
"Now I Nebcuhadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and His ways judgment; and those that walk in pride He is able to abase."
Daniel 4:37
When God humbles us, we experience a supernatural, divine act of His kindness urging us back into relationship with Him.
Repentance proves the pivotal point by which God's power first begins to appear in our lives. When we call on Him with broken, repentant, and dismantled spirits, and subject ourselves to His redemptive purposes, we are in an exciting new season of "recovery and discovery" with Him.
"If My people which are called by My name shall humble themselves ...."
------
2) Turning away from our wicked ways and turning toward God in His holy ways is a powerful and forcible combination and manifestation of God's resurrection power.
Consider:
Our sin resulted in the crucifixion of Christ;
God's love for us resulted in being raised to life with Christ.
Everytime we hear or see an individual repenting of sin and walking out a "rebirth", we are witnessing the resurrected power of Christ's death, buriel, and resurrection.
No greater truth has been more powerfully revealed to me, personally, than this one.
God's glory isn't evidenced through "our" righteousness,
But through His righteousness at work within.
Beloved, this is our reality.
Whenever and wherever we are being convicted of sin, we are witnessing the early signs of God's compelling and redemptive love for us.
Hallelujah and Amen.
3) Healing comes on the heels of confessing sin.
Over and over again, we humans work to conceal and cover up our sin so as to avoid the consequences of it and, in doing so, forfeit the love, mercy, and grace of God's redemptive abundant love for us.
In hiding our sin and "running for cover" we neglect God's weightier purposes and provisions for our life and the lives of others which Christ is so adamantly working to display. God's word is sure, pure, and clean He says that a "healing of land" requires confession of sin.
We bring defilement into the land and Christ wields the power to bring deliverance to it.
This isn't a concept to be declared ...
It's a power to be realized.
Any individual or corporate body that begins to stake it's life and belief system to this reality is going to undergo the empowerment of God and see revival at work within its midst.
This is a guarantee, a certainy, and a reality.
We must break the "silent endeavor" of hiding, holding, and harboring sin and release ourselves to the wonder working power of Christ's blood.
------
Consider praying 2 Chronicles 7:14 at 7:14 in the morning or evening as an individual or as a corporate body and see what God does through it.
Repentance is the key to revival and the forerunner to recognizing and realizing the resurrected power at work.
Don't be like me and miss it when it first arrives.
For 40 days commit yourself to this endeavor and pray to God for the initual phase of repentance to begin within.
*If you remain unchanged in this powerful and provoking exercise let me know.
You'll be a first.
