SHADES OF GRAY

SHADES OF GRAY
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Buried in the ash,
There I found her.
She was crying,
Lying in a fetal position,
Slowly dying,
But still alive,
The rhythmic breathing.
Soot and charcoaled hair and body;
Shades of gray,
Eclipsing.
And in that ashen state;
The love of Christ.
The holy clean estate of One so holy:
Gently cleansing,
Softly washing,
Traces of gray to snowpowder white.
The color of redemption.
The color of grace.
The color of Christ:
From dark to light,
From gray to white.
Made pure and holy.
