STEADY THE SAILOR

STEADY THE SAILOR
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Christ loves us unconditionally,
Settles us positionally,
Satisfies us supernaturally,
Extends grace and mercy lavishly.
And still …
We flounder about,
Flit about,
Wander about,
Reel about …

Like drunken sailors
On a placid,
Peaceful sea.
~~~
Why does restlessness,
Carelessness,
Casualness,
Selfishness
Attach itself so quickly to the soul?
How can we be lax,
Lazy,
Blurry,
Hazy,
Yet possess
Such realities …
Untold.
~~~
O God ….
Keep us on course,
Keep us on fire,
Fill us with hope,
And godly desire.
Keep us on task,
Keep us in tune,
Keep us in time,
Returning to You.
Steady the sailor,
Still the sea,
Keep lavishing grace ...
Unconditionally.
‘Til we’re home.

“As a father pities His children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:13-14
