THE ART GUY AND GOD

THE ART GUY AND GOD
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Art guy on public television,
Crazy hair.
Instructor.
Illustrator.
Teacher.

Fascinating
Sort of creature.
~~~
Dabs,
Touches,
Strokes,
Brushes.
Life-like lands.
Artistic hands.
Winding pathway.
Streams of blue;
All adorned in
Colored hue.
Splash the canvas wall.
~~~
Art instructor
Fills with wonder.
Slow and steady.
Think I’m ready.
I can do it too.
Dab.
Touch.
Stroke.
Brush.

Colors merge.
Forms appear…
But all unknown
All unclear.
So much harder
Than it seemed.
Better just …
To simply dream.

I cannot do the same.
~~
God paints a landscape.
Brush in hand.
Word of God.
Imperfect man.
Assigns His holy word.
Christ could do it.
Never blew it.
Dab,
A brush….
A simple touch.

Calls me
To the same.
~~~
All attempts,
And all my tries…
Blow it,
Watchful Holy eyes;
Perceive my merging hues.
Nothing clear.
Escaping tear…
I cannot do the same.
~~~
Christ receives me.
Helps.
Relieves me.
Loves in sinful state.
Cleansing.
Healing.
Holding.
Sealing …

Child in sinful state.
~~~
God forgive…
And be for me …
The more that I
Can never be.
And love me as Your own.
Just God,
And God ….
Alone.
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”
Titus 3:5
