THEY SAY

THEY SAY

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

They say,
  "Curiosity killed the cat."
Hmmm ...
I'm glad the usage is singular because I think it made many others a great deal more wise.
Mmmm ....
That's better.
------
Curiosity is a powerful, forceful, beautiful thing;
It leads to discoveries, discernings, and differences;
It takes us to new places, new peoples, and new ideas.
It's the brain-child behind the development of creative gifts and taps into the interests of others with a genuine hunger to learn and make new discoveries.
Curiosity ...
It is altogether praiseworthy;
An expressive gift of the Father.
------
And more and more I care less and less ...
 what the men say.
And more and more, I care very much more, about what God has to say.
Mostly, I witness an ever increasing chasm dividing and distinguishing the two,
And it is in this curious beautiful "discovery" that an exhilarating freedom is being garnered, learned, and walked out.
And ...
I am learning to breathe again and it feels so doggone good,
And I hope everybody catches a breath of it.
Because what men have to say at the end of the day;
Matters nothing beside what God is saying.

-----
Yesterday, in regard to the care of a client, I sat down in an Audiologist's office and listened with curiousity and interest to a solution being imposed to intensify my client's hearing.
"We're going to improve the ability of your hearing by weakening and limiting the sound of background noise ... and it should make a significant difference," asserts the wise Audiologist while making adjustments to the expensive little hearing device.
And right in that moment,
BOOM ...
A reality has been nailed and hits with force upon my spirit and I hear the whisper,
Men's voices are a background noise that need to be tuned out in order to hear the One true voice which needs to be heard.
Mmmm ...
God be praised for His word this day,
In our lives.
Listen to Him, learn of Him, and love Him freely.

"Thy words were found and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart, for I am called by Thy name, O Lord God of Hosts."
