Don't put your best foot forward;

It's likely to be the foot you trip on.
Hmmm ...
So right now in my life I'm asking God to do this certain amazing thing that I believe lines up in accordance with the Gospel, in accordance with redemption, and in accordance with reconciliation.
But I recognize it as an impossible human endeavor and a very large and God-sized possible endeavor. I cannot say how it might "pan out" but I think there's a thread of gold in the vein worth seeking and so I implore God on the matter.
And it's so strange how He turns the heart ... is it not?
In a magical, mystical, certain "majestical" fashion God somehow makes the heart to want something it never wanted before.
Indeed, initially the soul might even work to refuse it and resist it, but the glimmer of gold takes ahold and the glory of God shines through.
In accordance with His glory and His power at work ... He does these crazy suggestive acts in the soul that suggest that His power is very much alive and waiting to be realized and appropriated not by just a "single" individual but by a corporate body.
Simply, He shuts down the best of our preconceived ideas and replaces them with His own and He whispers,
Putting "your" best foot forward is a very bad idea because you haven't got a best foot.
Putting My promises forward and stepping out on those is a very wise idea that will grant you empowerment, encouragement, and a needed strength for your next step.
Mmmm ...
And there we have it for today.
We pray earnestly and implore God steadily to act on our behalf and reveal His glory.
We look for the thread of gold and we go after it.
We allow His promises to lead us,
And we cease from putting our best foot forward ...
And we journey home.
