2 x 3 = 6

2 x 3 = 6
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

My "mustard seed" was doubled in just one yesterday.
+Three dollars.
+Three packages of mustard seed.
+Six individuals.
(See yesterday's devotional if you're not tracking.)
One by one, God brought me into contact with six individuals, each of a different case, mindset, and experience; yet each hand held the mustard seed and was, in a signficant way, affected.
Think with me.
All day long our hands hold countless items and perform countless routines:
Exchanging money + exchanging handshakes.
Exchanging hugs + exchanging greetings.
Wiping tables + wiping bottoms.
Mopping floors + cleaning toilets.
Making love + and making deals.
 Holding children + wiping tears.
Making agreements + making gestures.
All day long ...
Then a single mustard seed, my friend, no larger than the head of a needle is pressed into the hand and the whole person is affected.
Profound. Provoking. Mysterious.
A grain of seed and a truth beside wields great power.
"And the apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'
So the Lord said, 'If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to the mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots and planted in the sea, and it would obey you."
Luke 17:5-6
This little sacred act is impacting my faith in profound ways.
And I think to myself ...
We like to experience grand things on a grand scale, and so we perhaps forget that the largest things in life begin with a single seed.
We must simply be faithful with "a" seed God gives us,
and ask Him to multiply it.
Today ... maybe 3 x 3?
And our dear brother Andrew.
"And Jesus said, 'Make the people sit down.' Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted."
John 6:10-11
