9/16TH'S MONKEY WRENCH

9/16TH'S MONKEY WRENCH

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

The curious little discoverer makes yet another discovery:
A 9/16th Monkey Wrench.
My husband was humored by my little speedwalk treasure which I found located on the landing of a gas station on Western and 26th. If you were the owner of the pencil (yesterday's treasure), it's "finder's keepers," but if you're the owner of the wrench, I'll allow you to claim it.
It's an expensive little item, a weighty little bronzed steel Berylco. which I looked up and received an education on upon arriving home.

Hmmm ...
I wondered at the moment of my intersection with the handy-dandy wrench, if it might be needed on my walk, for I'm seen God work this way in advance a thousand times. Had it been needed to "thunk or clunk" someone properly on the head or be utilized somehow as a protective weapon on yesterday's speedwalk, I'm convinced it would have done the job properly, but fortunately it wasn't needed.
What shall I do with it now but gift my beautiful little Owen, who shall know exactly what to do with it and how to employ it. Owen is my 3 1/2 year old grandson who specializes in wheels and things that go round. All day long and when we're together, he and I locate round things and find new callings and employments for circular objects. A mechanical mind, we generally find ourselves employed with things like servicing tractor tires, bike tires, and wagon wheels. It seems that something is always needing fixing on the ranch.
We take extraordinary measures in exagerated fashion with curious tools and find ourselves a wooden stump to lift the front wheels so as to properly service the back tires and then do a switch around and service the front.
It's quite a happy and adventurous process.
In any event ...
This little Monkey Wrench is going to come in very handy and be exclaimed over by Owen, much like my #2 pencil (see yesterday.)
I already know this in advance and am looking forward to it. He's got more than a wee bit of me inside of him. I'm claiming him.
I plop all my gear together taking special delight in the little Monkey Wrench thrown on top. Hopefully, I don't need it for a flat on the way but one never knows. Ha.
A beautiful gift for my beautiful boy ...
And love goes round.
Monkey matters and simple matters become priceless matters ... and moments that matter with the little man I love.
A simple 9/16ths Monkey Wrench.
