A FARAWAY LOOK
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt
A novel idea is the spine of a book,
And a faraway, faraway, faraway look.
A dream and a dance, and a dare, and a try;
A wing and a leap in a thought passing by.
What shall I call it … a marvel, a gain;
A plural idea on a singular plain?
A fixture, a resolute solo in thought,
A march with a single idea to a trot?
An entrance, an antiphon mingling anew,
Like grass in the morning that’s dazzled in dew?
A shower of rain and the heat of the sun,
That warms like a dance on the tip of the tongue?
A story, a novel, the spine of a book;
Begins with a faraway, faraway look.
A dream and a dance; and a dare, and a try;
A wing and a leap in a thought passing by.
