ANOTHER SEED

ANOTHER SEED

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Within each soul there lies a need,
And so I plant ... a mustard seed.
------
My three dollar purchase of mustard seed continues to expand its ministry,
and the human soul is observed a most fertile and receptive soil.
Thus far, my experience has been nothing short of blessing and wonderment and I feel myself blessed and growing in faith through each testimony.
Yesterday's testimonial provokes and proves again the power contained in a single seed:
I found myself seated next to a lovely woman who spoke freely to me on a great many matters. Interesting and inciteful, I listened with perked ears and a general curiousity to her running commentary on politics, people, and her preferences regarding each.
After some little time of listening, I was asked to share some thoughts of my own.
Hmmm ...
"I've a great seed of thought for you also," I offered, "and I'm much interested in your thoughts on this particular matter."
I shared my three dollar story (see Community page) and withdrew the little mustard seed package from my purse. Gently escorting two little seeds into my hand, I held them out to my friend who eagerly and quickly held out her hand. She gazed on the miniscule seeds in wonderment and shook her head in a most emphatic way while I shared the wondrous truth,
"And the apostles said unto the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'
And the Lord said, 'If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you might say unto this mulberry tree, be thou rooted up and planted in the sea, and it would obey you."
Luke 17:5-6
------
"You won't believe this," she said, "because I can hardly believe it myself, but just this morning I requested in prayer that my faith would grow and be even as a mustard seed. And now I literally hold it and it amazes me.
It's a sure word from the Lord."
"Yes, indeed, and so wonderfully and visibly affirming," I said.
We spoke for some little while about the strength of "seeing" and "holding" the seed for ourselves and we built one another up wonderfully in a "faith" conversation.
Our conversation turned positive, productive, and deeply profound.
It brought me joy ...
and it brought my Heavenly Father joy also.
There's nothing in all the world like experiencing this.
------
The seeds continue their journey out and I wonder whose hand will be next?
Will it be yours?
We can never know.
One thing I know ...
This little seed is having a very big impact on "my" faith and my journey with the Lord.
In just a few short hours a new seed story will be mine and then yours,
because I find it "faith building" to share it with you.
God bless the seed,
and the little carrier that loves Him.
Until tomorrow ...
