"For I have given unto them the words which Thou gavest Me, and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from Thee, and they have believed that Thou didst send Me. I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given Me and they are Thine. And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine, and I am glorified in them.
And now come I to Thee; and these things I speak in the world that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them Thy word and the world hath hated them because they are not of this world even as I am not of this world. I pray not that Thou shouldest take them of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from evil.
Sanctify them through Thy truth; Thy word is truth."
John 17:9-10;14-15;17
Jesus was determined to leave earth with the Father's parting words imprinted distinctly on the disciples' minds.
He knew ...
+The Father's word would secure and succour the disciples in trying seasons and difficult times ahead just as it had done for Him.
+The Father's word would impart fresh knowledge and daily wisdom for the decisions that would need to be made ahead just as it had done for Him.
+The Father's word would protect, preserve, and guide the feet and souls of men just as it had done Him.
Jesus knew the value, power, and strength of the Father's word because He had lived His life on earth out through it and by it.
It provided everything He needed and everything we need for life and godliness (2Peter1:3-4).
Not only would the words of the Father be theirs, but the impartation of the Spirit, and His own intercession at the Father's right hand would avail and bring life, empowerment, comfort, and joy in fullness of measure to them.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, 'He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to My Father."
John 14:12
Think of it, Beloved, and bask in this blessed reality!
The Godhead and the entire Trinity desire to boast and declare themselves in power through our lives.
These are no small idle words; they are our inheritance!
Do we understand what we have in our possession?
The unchanging word is what brings a favorable forecast of "Sonship" into our lives and secures us for an eternity.
We are to love the God we serve and the lives we live;
in extraordinary adventure!
We are to read the words of the Father and meditate continually on Him.
We are to take tight hold of Christ's hand and cling to Him.
We are to ask and allow the Spirit to convey and carry us to heights unseen and alone with Him.
We've been outfitted, equipped, and prepared for our eternity.
We can live our lives boldly,
and unashamedly.
What a crazy beautiful adventure!
1) Read John 14-17 today and dwell on the empowerments given and provided you through Christ..Pray for a personal experience of rejuvenation in the Spirit by which you come alive and feel yourself teeming with life and in union with Him.
2) How is the power of God made manifest in your life?
Do others see, hear, and and experience the power of God at work in you? Are you experiencing His power at work within?
In what clarifying ways?
3) Remember that it's the recognition and acknowledgement of weakness that puts in motion the energizing forces of the Godhead.
Ask God for a release of the Spirit's power.
Request to be emboldened.
Implore to be fueled with an internal hunger for the Word.
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it."
John 14:13-14
Nothing has been withheld from you;
Live out the Adventure!
