By: Darrelyn L. Tutt"And God spoke unto Noah and to his sons with him, saying, 'And I will establish My covenant with you, and with your seed after you; and with every living creature that is with you of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you, from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish My covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, 'This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.' And God said unto Noah, 'This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between Me and all flesh that is upon the earth.'"Genesis 9:8-17Today's Read: Genesis 9; 2Chronicles 7-------Noah and his family had survived and endured the judgement of God in the haven of an ark. It was Noah's obedience to God that procured and preserved this humble means of salvation;Like baby Moses in the bullrush basket, the great ark made by human hands bobbled about on an open sea for a timeframe that seemed an eternity, and granted them salvation. The years of labor that Noah had been ridiculed and scoffed at were exchanged for peace, preservation, and salvation. The opening of the hatch and the vision of dry ground must have been a very overwhelming sight, an extraordinary moment.Try to feel it:-The wobbly ankles and feet experiencing firm ground beneath must have felt solidly divine.-The sense of loss and salvation must have been extraordinarily mingled with the death toll looming heavy in their minds, and salvation being eerily understood.-The symbolism of the ark had to be "something" as they stepped back and surveyed this historical piece of wood that had harbored this endangered species of man and animals and secured their passage to land through an unprecedented, catastrophic flood.-------Noah's first thought when he got off the ark wasn't for himself or about himself; This is amazing to me.Noah's thoughts were all about God.Entering the "land of the living" once again,He builds an altar to the Living God,And He offers sacrifices and praise to God.God smells the sweet savor (vs.21) of Noah's sacrifice and, once again, is deeply pleased with the extraordinary devotion and heart of Noah. And again, Noah's love and devotion to God, have far reaching effects.Colors, unified and blended, spill over him and canopy over him in a "never-before-seen" rainbow, stretched over him.Instead of waters beneath him, God places the bow above him,And the exchange of this documented recording of favor and covenant to Noah is outstanding and worth standing for.God covenants, as only He can do with man, in the form of an illustrious plan called a rainbow, to never destroy man or animal through a world-wide flood on the earth again. The rainbow is a precious provision and reminder to you and me that God will keep the promises He has given us in His word and His everlasting covenant will be arched over man until eternity. As the rainbow arches the sky,So Christ's blood arches the soul ...And brings it cleansing, peace, and preservation. From now until eternity the blood shall stand and the holy covenant shall prevail because God will be faithful to His covenant.------1) One individual who bends the knee brings pleasure to God and receives the pleasure of God in mysterious and miraculous ways. 2) The word of God and the promises of God are held fast by God through His everlasting covenant until eternity. Stake your life on them and to Him.God will be faithful in His covenant to you and me.3) An "altar moment" can begin this "very moment" in the bending of knees and the cry of a heart to God.Call out to Him and know that He derives pleasure from your praise, adoration, and humility. There's beauty in the bow;Begin to praise.-----
