"And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the Lord continually."
Exodus 28:29
Hmmm ...
Wasn't Aaron the man defiling God while God was defining him?
Was the sacred role of High Priest assigned openly to an individual who was busy designing a worship sculpture called the "Golden Calf?"
Should a man of scandal seriously hope to be utilized by God as a sacred High Priest?
Is this a good precedent for God to set?
What in the tarnation is happening?
Was God so busy with Moses on the Mount that He overlooked the mischief of Aaron on earth?
"And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp that he saw the calf, and the dancing; and Moses' anger waxed hot and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them beneath the mount. And he took the calf which they had made and burnt it in the fire and ground it to powder, and strewed it upon the water, and the made the children of Israel drink of it. And Moses said unto Aaron, 'What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?"
Exodus 32:19-21
Curiously, mysteriously, and miraculously ...
God chose His High Priest with a full knowledge of what the "High Priest" was doing while He was delivering His prophetic anointing.
It's strange, crazy, awful, and beautiful all at once.
How could a godly man construct a golden calf?
How could impatience prompt false worship?
How could the fickle voice of people sound louder than the certain truth of God in a God-ordained leader?
And the BIGGEST question:
How could God secure and assign a High Priesthood role to such a sinful individual?
Couldn't He just "reassign" a new man?
Isn't that what He "should" do?
Isn't that what "we" would do?
Hmmm ...
If we fail to see the terms of redemption metered out and applied by God to Aaron as a sinful "High Priest" in this extraordinary early exercise of redemption, then we miss out on the holy wonder and deliverance God had planned for all of mankind since the beginning of the world.
Aaron is you and Aaron is me ... minus the High Priest title.
Children of the Most High prone to wander and prone to forget.
Prone to unspeakable acts and seemingly unpardonable sins and yet the grace of God remains and sustains through the rights of redemption.
Redemption is a substantial, holy business that none understand but God and yet we "stand in it" all day long and find our deliverance.
Redemption defies logic, sin, and mortality.
Redemption is what's applied to mortals and reapplied over and over until eternity.
Note your position on the High Priest's breastplate.
Christ has got you and you are His forever and ever.
Your place is secure.
Your position is eternal.
The "Stone Carrier's" got you.
You are sealed upon His breast and carried redemptively;
 it's His promise to you.
Look closely at the human "stone carrier" and the "tribe conveyor" above, and marvel at the merciful wonder of redemption provided first, the High Priest of God named Aaron, and which now has been applied to you and me through the High Priest, Jesus Christ.
There is only one true "Stone Carrier" and He's got you and me.
The Stone Carrier.
"Wherefore, He is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing that He ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens."
Hebrews 7:25-26
