"And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel. Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone according to their birth. With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel; thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold. And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel; and Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord upon his two shoulders for a memorial."
Exodus 28:9-12
The study days ahead will be crowned with jewels ... twelve to be exact.
We'll ascribe a gem with a tribe and gain entrance into the beautiful mind of God.
But this day our emphasis is placement.
All twelve tribes were carried on the shoulders of the High Priest:
Reuban. Simeon. Levi. Judah. Zebulun. Issachar. Dan. Gad. Asher. Naphtali. Joseph. Benjamin.
The priest bore and wore the stones representing each tribe on his holy shoulders and in his priestly garments.
+No tribe was left behind and each was symbolized and carried in a stone.
+Each tribe represented the brotherhood of Israel and was loved by God.
+Each tribe was accounted for and carried on priestly shoulders.
The wonder of this magnificent act lies in its picture of redemption and it's ultimate transfer from mortal shoulders to immortal shoulders.
A transfer which includes, not just the twelve tribes, but you and me.
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulders and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this."
Isaiah 9:6-7
I hope you just sat up a little straighter and identified a reason to read and study the Old Testament. Within such knowledge lies the key to opening and understanding the Scripture. It's holy beautiful ... and just a stone's throw away.
Read it. Know it. Invest in it.
God loves you and has a place for "you" on His holy shoulders.
All who are called by Him and all who have called on Him are sufficiently carried by Him into eternity.
+Christ's shoulders are strong and able.
+Christ's policy is a "no sheep left behind" guarantee.
+Christ died to set you free and carry you into His holy presence on His holy shoulders.
The placement is sure and the promise guaranteed ...
to all who believe.
There is beauty in the stones and a visual demonstration of God's redemptive power in it.
 Don't miss it.
Each stone has value, worth, placement, and the divine protection of God upon it.
Each stone signifies the divine selection of God and His conveyance of mercy to it.
Each stone is a sheep ...
on the shoulders of the Redeemer headed for home.
"What man of you having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until He find it? And when He hath found it, He layeth it on His shoulders rejoicing?
Luke 15:4-5
Study the stones and their symbolism;
see the picture of illustrated and tangible mercy.
Experience the mystery of God,
on the stones on His shoulders.
And see "yourself" there.
He's got you and He loves you ...
It's written in stone.
Six on a Stone.
