AUGUST 5 - Meditation: Isaiah 31:1

DAY 5 – I311H
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt
Today’s Meditation: Isaiah 31:1

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses and trust in chariots because they are many; and in horsemen because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord.”
Isaiah 31:1
-----
Ladder Rung: I311H
I
and H are the first and last letters of Isaiah.
Selection of words to enable memory:
Israel’s Hindrance.
31:1 is our reference.
3:00 PM meditation on this passage will take place.
1 on 1 … another individual will be pulled into my passage with me will be read aloud together.
-----
Throughout Israel’s history she struggled with interdependent relationships, and looked to surrounding countries to provide the protection she needed in time of trouble.
Substituting the visible for the invisible she lost her footing and fell out of step with her true Deliverer, God Almighty.
-----
Throughout God’s word caution is put forth to exercise trust in only one source:
God.
Every “Egypt” we look to will turn up faulty and unsatisfying in the end …
And every time God is looked too, satisfaction and eternal gain is ours in the end.
The secret to life is to seek after that which is invisible and does not perish, spoil, or fade away;
To draw near to God, when everything within would rather draw near to an illusory “visual” that promises, but cannot deliver, a lasting and satisfying peace.
Who we place our trust in and what we place our trust in determines the life we live and the love that we either forfeit or experience here on earth.
-May we secure our lives with the substance of God’s word.
-May we partake in that which is pure and according to God’s promise.
-May we abide in that which is eternal and experience the provision of peace, protection, and preservation.
Trust is only secure when it's placed in the Lord.

Immortal Father and Appointer of grace and divine wisdom,
Grant to each soul reading this, a placement and securing of trust in Thee.
Where heart has wandered, mind has strayed, thoughts have suggested an earthly recourse; let such thoughts now be brought to nothing and Satan’s relentless attacks thwarted by Thy sure and pure Word.
Let Thy promises afford bountiful provisions soon realized.
Let love for Thee be suggested in each decision that is made.
To Thee and in Thee,

Let our souls exert trust in Thee.
Amen.
