CAUTION!

CAUTION!
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses and trust in chariots because they are many; and in horsemen because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord.”
Isaiah 31:1
-----
Throughout Israel’s history she struggled with interdependent relationships, and looked to surrounding countries to provide the protection she needed in time of trouble. Substituting the visible for the invisible she lost her footing and fell out of step with her true deliverer, God Almighty.
-----
Throughout God’s word caution is put forth to exercise trust in only one source:
GOD.
Every “Egypt” we look to will turn up faulty and unsatisfying in the end and, every time God is looked too, satisfaction and eternal gain will be ours in the end.
The secret to life is to seek after that which is invisible and to that which does not perish, spoil, or fade away. The secret to life is to resist fleshly and temporal urgings and replace them with lasting and securing provisions.
Who we place our trust in, and what we place our trust in, determines the life we live and the love that we either forfeit or experience here on earth.
May we secure our lives with the substance of God’s word.
May we partake in that which is pure and according to God’s promise.
May we abide in that which is eternal in order to experience the peace that passes all understanding.
May options and alternatives, apart from God, be quickly voided and staunchly refused.
May we resist the urge to look to anything or anyone but God.
Exercise caution in your decision making and trust in the Lord.

Immortal Father and Appointer of grace and divine wisdom,
Grant to each soul reading this, a placement and securing of trust in You.
Where heart has wandered, mind has strayed, thoughts have suggested an earthly recourse; let such thoughts now be brought to nothing, and Satan’s relentless attacks thwarted by Your sure and pure word.
Let Your promises afford bountiful provision, and let security in Your word be met by an abundance of Your grace.

Amen.
