DEAD IN THE REDBy: Darrelyn L. Tutt"Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spoke saying, I will sing unto the Lord for He hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and song and He is become my salvation; He is my God, and I will prepare Him a habitation; my father's God and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.Pharoah's chariots and his host hath He cast into the sea; his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea. The depths have covered them; they sank into the bottom as a stone. Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power; Thy right hand O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of Thine excellency Thou hast overthrown them that rose up against Thee; Thou sentest forth Thy wrath which consumed them as stubble. And with the blast of Thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters. Who is like unto Thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Thou stretchest out Thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. Thou, in Thy mercy hast led forth the people which Thou hast redeemed; thou hast guided them in Thy strength unto Thy holy habitation."Exodus 15:1-13-------Dead in the Red, and the enemy swallowed up.Our context is utterly beautiful. Israel has been sufficiently and sovereignly separated from her enemy and captor Egypt, and saved by her Redeemer and Rescuer God.+No longer would she dwell and labor for the profit of another nation.+No longer would the dictates and demands of captors determine her fate and her dwelling.+No longer would the gods of foreigners be imposed as the gods over all.The time for God's people, preordained and predetermined, had been sovereignly situated into 400 plus years of captivity and the time for miraculous rescue and deliverance had arrived."The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name."The magnificence of "this" people on the march had to be one of head-scratching unbelievability. What weaponless nation with nothing at their disposal could conquer a super power named Egypt? What captive people dared to turn the heel on their infamous captor and impose and suggest a will of their own? What invisible God could defeat and defy the visible gods of a ruthless nation?Hmmm ...None but the people of God through the Lord God Almighty.--------+-Let all those who have been redeemed, rejoice triumphant in the march of their King.+Let all those who have been secured victory in Christ attest loudly and jubilantly to their great King, Redeemer, and Rescuer.+Let all those who have watched Satan and his cohorts be cast into the sea shout Amen and Hallelujah!Dead in the "Red" ... our God reigns.+Let none negate or withhold the adoration, worship, and praise our Christ is deserving of.Great is the Lord and worthy to be praised and none can diminish, thwart, or destroy His holy purposes.Give praise, all you elect, and rejoice as you watch the "sea" divide, and the Conqueror provide for each step that you take into His promises.------Praise propels the soul to its most glorious state;and nothing lifts it like the exaltation of its Savior.Let praise flow from your lips ...And let this song be heard as you march."Who is like unto Thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Thou stretchest out Thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. Thou in Thy mercy hast led forth the people which Thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them in Thy strength unto Thy holy habitation."Exodus 15:11&13-----Three Study Considerations:1) Read today's passages and utilize this praise passage as your own. Create your own personal symphony of thankfulness to the Lord. ------2) What happens in your soul when you begin to praise God? What happens to those around you when you do?------3) What trial, test, or "Red Sea" has God parted for you? What enemies has He faithfully triumphed over and what lies "dead in the Red" because of Him?-------
