Exposed – Uncovered, unsheathed, unadorned, naked, unarmed, defenseless.
The soul that comes to God in such a state will be clothed.
God doesn’t need any of our finery.
He doesn’t need:
an intelligent mind,
a beautiful face,
an eloquent tongue,
an attractive body,
a title behind the name,
money in the account.
He sets His holy eye on ...
the needy one,
the hurting one,
the broken one,
the empty one,
the searching one,
the naked and exposed one.
And He loves that “one.”
And on that “one” He adorns an internal raiment superior to earth’s finest.
In that “one” He finds delight and anoints with His Spirit.
Over that “one” He provides a canopy of grace.
And before that “one” He goes ahead.
God is not afraid of an altered, broken, damaged, fragmented life;
Come as you are … and He will clothe you.
“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing; and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked …
I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich;
and white garments that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed;
and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.’
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.
Therefore be zealous and repent.”
