FALLEN

FALLEN

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

People fall on hard times for a whole host of reasons:
Loss of Employment.
Loss of a child.
Divorce.
Addictions.
Health Issues.
Relational difficulties.
Mental conflicts.
Depression.
Life changes of alll kinds.
On and on .... and on.
-----
I'm not sure what you see when you see a homeless, hurting, isolated individual ... or assess a "screwed up" situation but, for myself, I've ceased from the days of judgement and criticism, and I feel nothing but compassion, sympathy, and empathy.
I have the power to change other lives and create positive scenarios each and every day. The world doesn't need more nay-sayers, gossipers, head-shakers, and ugliness; it needs compassion, kindness, tenderness, and love.
I have these things to give and so do you.
-----
When we work to constructively "change" a difficult scene and contribute practical and concrete love, our worlds becomes more beautiful, more defined, and more charged with purpose. So do the worlds of others.
When we begin to see ourselves as able and capable individuals who have the ability to play a critical role in the well-being of others we act more decently and humanely. When we begin to merge and identify our own brokennes and humanity with the brokenness in the world, we begin to love the way God intended us to love and live the way He intended us to live.
There are many ways to love.
Be creative.
Be earnest.
Be compassionate.
Participate.
Invite a homeless or hurting individual to have a warm meal with you in a nice restaurant and love the daylights out of them instead of being critical and negative about them.
Cash, gift cards, and Burger King meals work great but nothing beats a face to face, a table of grace, and warmth and love.
Nothing beats compassion and camaraderie.
Get up close and personal to the hurting, broken, and fallen around you ... and try to remember what you needed at your lowest point and then give it!
You have the power to make a difference.
Love.
Ask questions.
Listen to answers.
Repeat the process ... and make a new friend.
You'll want to do it again.
I'm off and at it.
