FEBRUARY 7: SAVOR THE FAVOR

SAVOR THE FAVOR
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

God's favor rests in curious ways ... on the unfavorable.
God drops his bucket-loads of love and favor on the questionable folks that others have overlooked and over-judged.
-He esteems those who have been rejected.
-He loves those who have been despised.
-He receives those who have been cast out.
And He unrelentingly, unquestionably, and most forcibly applies and attaches Himself to the cast-aways.
"And as He passed by, He saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, 'Follow Me.' And he arose and followed Him. And it came to pass that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto His disciples, 'How is it that He eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?' When Jesus heard it, He saith unto them, 'They that are whole have no need of the physician but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
Mark 2:14-17
My beautiful Savior ....
He identifies with, and places "His" identity on the "sinful" ones.
His favor rests on the confessing sinner,
not on the self-proclaimed saint.
His favor rests on the broken and contrite,
not on the arrogant and proud.
His favor is reserved for the rejected and refused,
not for the religious and the Pharisee.
This is the Gospel ...
the blessed place where the glorious favor of God rests on the heads of sinful men and conveys them to places unspeakable.
So great are His mysterious ways.
-----
In God's economy, prodigals are pardoned and welcomed, and celebratory feasts are held.
In God's economy, grace rules and reigns, and resolves men's darkest and most sinful acts.
Soak and saturate yourself in the wondrous love of Jesus and let no man bring any other "Gospel" to you.
Splash in the grace of God and find yourself cleansed.
Savor His favor and soak with favor ...
 all those around you.
Hallelujah!
