 As a young girl I thoroughly enjoyed time at the lake. Invariably there would be a race between siblings to see who could plunge their entire body into the cold water first.
The “race” began the moment our feet touched the sand. Full bore we ran; gaining momentum with a desire to reach the depths and be the first to go under.
Sometimes I won and other times I didn’t; but always I was good for the race.
The race was not about running into the shallows ... but diving into the deep.
Likewise, I have found that intimacy with Christ requires plunging into the depths.
Sand castles can be enjoyed on the sand, and the enjoyment of water felt as one wades along the beach but nothing compares to a full body plunge into the depths.
Intimacy with Christ is established when the heart and mind plunge into the word with full bore intensity;
When the whole man disappears beneath the surface and then resurfaces with a cleansing refreshment permeating his entire being.
This is what it means to experience depth with Christ.
Be done with the building of sand castles and shallow wading and dive into the deep.
Experience more of Christ …
Go deeper.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33
