HAWK EYES

HAWK EYES

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

The ways and means by which God speaks to us conveys a story to us about His personalness, creativity, originality, and desire for communion.
Let's reflect on a few "creative" encounters recorded in God's word, in order to reopen the door to suggesting new possibilities of our own.
-Moses and the burning bush.
-Balaam and the talking donkey.
-Elijah and the raven.
-Joseph and the dreams.
-Abraham and Isaac and the altar.
-Samuel and the voice.
-Mary and the virgin birth.
-The widow and the oil.
-Ruth and the gleaning fields.
-David and the slingshot.
-The wisemen and the star.
-Paul and the road to Damascus.
Every one of these individuals encountered God in a unique and personal way, demonstrating the unlimited resource and supply God has available at all times to create and contribute an encounter at any time and at any place for you and me.
To box God up and make a determination about how He will reveal Himself to us is a sad commentary of the soul striving for "control" and nothing meaningful.
Consider the endless possiblities, dear Reader, and watch for Him.
------
God's "dispersals" to me have been of such proportion, dear Reader, that I couldn't possibly record them all, and yet they seem to happen with regularity.
One such episode transpired again Sunday.
Half way through my speedwalk an unusual sight met me:
A special hawk.
Hawks don't frequent city limits and I haven't been privy to one but out in the country.
The hawk circled above my head while walking on one of the busiest stretches in our city.
Not only did he circle me, dear Reader,
He stayed directly above me creating halos over me for 1/2 mile non-stop.
He was notably fixed on me,
Notably accompanying me,
A provision and message of God to me.
God was initiating and responding to communion with me.
Nobody knows but God and me what He said to me through the hawk.
But the hawk conveyed a message and it was clear to me.
------
Hawk eyes are visionary ... and so is God.
Look ahead, dear Reader, and pay attention to the means by which He chooses to speak to you.
Get alone with Him,
Make time for Him,
And learn from Him.
Blessings on the journey ...
May you be surprised by Him.
------
Hawks have excellent eyesight and can locate prey from a distance of 100 feet.
They can dive 150 mph and catch prey in the air and on the ground.
Hawks are intelligent and quick.
Hmmm ...
It's not a bad idea to pray for hawk eyes.
