HE CHOSE TO STAY

HE CHOSE TO STAY
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

You left me for dead but God raised me up;
He's a resurrecting God.
You watched as I bled, but God in your stead, tended gently the wounds;
He's a restorative God.
You called me some names but God called me His;
He's a sheltering God.
You sent me away but God chose to stay;
He's an identifying God.
And now I realize only after the losses,
Only after the pain ...
Your neglect was my gain.
God is a triumphant, victorious, and glorious God;
He seized the day when you walked away.
And I praise His name.
