 A safe deposit box is an individually secured container, usually held within a larger safe or bank vault. Safe deposit boxes are used to store valuable possessions, marketable securities, important documents (e.g. wills, property deeds, or birth certificates), or data that is personal and private in nature.
A safe deposit box prevents theft and preserves important and valuable items.
The box can be opened with the presentation of an assigned key, the bank’s own guard key, the proper signature and sometimes a code of some sort.
I’m holding a key to a safe deposit box this moment in my hand;
the bank holds the other.
Just yesterday I went in, and for the smallest fee, secured myself a little place for the safe keeping of personal matters.
The box, for me, is not so much about housing “possessions” as housing a certain peace of mind;
it is a concrete endeavor to commit to God very deep and personal matters and leave them in a secure place while achieving a necessary goal.
It might sound like a strange concept but it's a "visible" one and I think it will work.
It is my hope that the box will receive few visits but it is there if I need it ... and I might.
To have my own space, my own place before God, in this way settles me.
I only wish I had thought of it sooner;
A safe deposit box is not comparable to what God has to offer; He provides the soul with a safety and security system that is indescribably and sufficiently more secure than anything that is manmade.
Trustworthy and faithful to the end, He holds the key who holds the soul, and guards it and preserves it from evil.
He knows who tampers with it, tempts it, and tries to work the key.
But the thing about God that makes Him different …
He’s the only One holding the key,
And that’s how it will stand for all eternity.
Entrust the safekeeping of your mind, body, and soul to a Savior who is sovereignly in control and holding the key ...
And entrust others to Him also.
You are safe, you are secure, you are sealed
In Him.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
John 10:27-28
