"The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
Jeremiah 17:9

"Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked man forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the Lord and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."
Isaiah 55:6-7
I sincerely scratch my head over individuals who scratch "theirs" over the case of sin.
All sinful conditions are rooted in the thing called "self" and, since we each have one, it seems a wrong thing to project and pretend we have no understanding of it.
-John is stupified by Walt's "open" gambling addiction while he pines away privately in the pornography department.
-Mary can't believe that Samantha is struggling with the suggestion of a gay lifestyle while she hides her "closet-door" addiction with food.
-Steve is stunned by Mark's confession of bank fraud while he hides his obsession with the "bottle."
-Carla is taken back by Josie's confession of swearing while she privately enjoys a smoking addiction.
God is sickened by the whole lot of whisperers, projectors, and pretenders.
He knows the whole condition of man is sickening, defiled, and disgusting and He tells us with finality that there is no exception to this rule.
"You" are not an exception to the rule.
You might be a "whisperer" but so are you also a privatized liar skilled at masking your private sins behind the confessed sins of others.
Think God's impressed?
I don't.
The simple reality is that the individuals confessing and speaking to hard truths are, in reality, the most truthful, honest, and sincere "sinners" you will ever meet.
They dared to come out of the sin closet;
The one everyone pretends they don't know about.
Hmmm ...
Individuals who "feign" a repulsion at the honesty and open disclosure of others are worth wondering about. God isn't fooled or afraid of any man's sins, no matter the name or the number of them.
He sent His Son to die for them.
Until we expose and confess our sins we haven't secured ourselves with redemptive rights and we haven't helped others secure theirs.
Choose to be a truth-teller and not a lie-dweller.
Shoulder up with folks admitting and confessing their sins because you're one of them.
Identify with "sinners" like you have a commonality with them because you do.
Quit pretending,
Pointing the finger,
Quit the head scratching ... and begin the heart searching by simply looking within.
We are each composed of unlimited evil and deceit.
The Bible tells us so.
Repentance is the springboard to revival and redemption,
And when we realize how short we each fall, we begin to plummet and discover the depths of God's amazing and forgiving love.
Easter's coming, and like eggs, we're all cracked, broken, and fragile.
We find our wholeness in Christ alone.
Begin with the "cracked" principal and Christ will do His wonderful work from there.
Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for Thou art my praise.
Jeremiah 17:14
