My heart is made soft,
Through affliction and test;
Through trials encountered,
I find I am blessed.

In humbly submitting,
My will and my way;
In yielding to Jesus,
I grow every day.

My faith is being nurtured,
My character tried;
Through molding and shaping,
I'm changing inside.

Through purposed affliction,
And trial I gain;
A heart that is softened ...
Conformed by the pain.
