The gifts were all unwrapped,
The wrapping paper strewn about;
Toys of every kind,
Were scattered everywhere throughout.

Sweaters, shirts, and clothing,
And computer games galore,
Vidoes and software,
For the children even more.

Something deep within me,
Wandered oh so far away.
To simple things that mattered,
On a simple Christmas Day.

A baby in a manger,
On a dark and quiet night;
The stars up in the heaven,
Looking down on Holy Light.

I’m humbled by this present,
By the manner which He came;
I’m hopeful of a Savior,
Who arrived with such a name:

Immanuel – God with us,
Not above us, not around,
But with us ... God is with us,
And He walked our mortal ground.

The King of heaven’s glory,
In His majesty and might;
Chose a woman’s womb,
And then arrived one quiet night.

A gift that came unwrapped,
And left His lofty home above,
To lay in manger hay,
One Christmas Day ….
A “gift” of love.
~Merry Christmas~

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
