What if my deepest desire is to speak a comfort through my crisis that speaks to another in theirs?
What if my deepest desire becomes to be consumed with the glory of God and not my own.
What will happen as my pride dies,
Self is crucified,
And Christ becomes the more?
What will happen as God translates my need for man’s approval and subjects it only to His?
Ahhh …
I think we’re getting somewhere;
This crazy journey where the end of “me” marks the beginning of “He.”
Where my soul finally finds its rest,
And settles itself on the lees of a settled and atoned grace.
Where Christ's defense of me is my surety and certainty;
And what He speaks to me becomes what matters most to me.
We cannot know what God can do until we give ourselves over to Him.
And the things which look to be but pain and loss,
Are the very things which lead us to the cross.
And when we see Him for who He is,
We see ourselves for who we are;
And nothing but Jesus,
Nothing but Jesus,
Really matters ... in the end.
But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Galatians 6:14
