"And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle; this shall be the first row. And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper; they shall be set in gold in their enclosings. And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names like the engravings of a signet; every one with the names shall they be according to the twelve tribes."
Exodus 28:17-21
Today's stone is the Jasper and our tribe is Benjamin.

Located in the fourth row and secured as the final stone in the breastplate of the High Priest is the beautiful Jasper.
Facts about the Jasper:
+The name "Jasper" hails from the Greek word for "spotted stone" referencing its multi-colored, striped, and spotted appearance.
+Jasper boasts a wide color variation and is extremely dense.
+The patterns deposited in Jasper are created by silica-rich sediments and volcanic ash.
+Jasper is mined in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, India and many other countries including the US, states of which include Arizona, Arkansas, California, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
+The Jasper is an opaque stone, meaning it cannot be seen through.
A most curious descriptive of Benjamin blends wonderfully into our spotted stone.
"Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey and at night he shall divide the spoil."
Genesis 49:27
A strong and daring tribe, Benjamin would succeed in coming away with the spoils from the enemy. His plunder would be great and his thunder would be heard from a distance.
He would devour in a literal sense and be strong, cunning, and vicious in his approach.
He would devour and prey on the enemy like a spotted leopard.
He would be a thickly regarded, formidable opponent.
The brother of Joseph and token of Jacob's old age would defy many odds and complete the prophecy foretold and all twelve of Jacob's sons would be accounted for ... and blessed.
The privileges attending Benjamin would be like tributaries and veins running through the Jasper. The High Priest would convey Benjamin's stone on his breastplate and grant full and redemptive right to him.
From the oldest to the youngest ...
Benjamin would prevail and be secured everlasting placement.
And the Jasper will succeed as a "first" stone of glory in the end ...
and the first shall be last as God has promised.
"And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God. Having the glory of God; and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a Jasper stone, and clear as crystal."
Revelation 21:10-11
"And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was Jasper ..."
Revelation 21:19
