JULY 10 - Hebrews 4:12-13 and John 17:17

By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
Hebrews 4:12-13

“Sanctify them through Thy truth, Thy Word is truth."
John 17:17
Memory Catcher:
The literal interpretation for “Word” is Jesus Himself.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
Jesus is the profile, proclamation, and exact defining and fulfillment of “Promise.”
He fills the bill entirely with nothing amiss.
Jesus walked on this earth as the literal visual translation of the Word before us.
Every word He spoke wielded power and authority because it was an explosion and exposure of God Almighty Himself.
In dealing with temptation the Word was used.
In healing the sick, infirmed, and diseased the Word was used.
In the making of miracles the Word was used.
In addressing and loving people the Word was used.
There is no life with God apart from the Word of God.
The Word is our living spiritual DNA:
 An intertwining of the Immortal with the mortal,
The Stronger binding the weaker;
The Greater attaching to the lesser;
Conveying the soul to eternity.
To view the “Word” of God as a formality, a moral code, or a visual accommodation that contributes to a Sunday morning appearance is wrong.
To use the “Word” of God as a whipping stick, a behavior modifying agent, or an academic school book is wrong.
The Word of God is Living.
The Word of God is Active.
The Word of God is redemptive.
The Word of God is Jesus Christ.
The Word of God is the DNA of Christ's blood intermingled and making holy our own.
The Word is Christ … tracking and exacting His blood all over our sin-stained souls in order that we might make tracks in the lives of others.
The Word is a life-giving, life-breathing, life-breeding soul changer.
Immerse yourself in Him.
Eat of Him.
Drink of Him.
Partake of Him.
Life has been given you:
The Word.
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life."
1 John 1:1
