"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, 'Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak; for I am a child.' But the Lord said unto me, 'Say not, I am a child; for thou shalt go to all that I send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee,' saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, 'Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to throw down, to build, and to plant."
Jeremiah 1:5-10
Today's Read: Jeremiah 1; 1 Corinthians 1
Jeremiah is genetically linked to the priesthood through his earthly father but the prophet role is divinely appointed and ordained for Jeremiah at a specific season in Israel's history.
Floundering, frightful, and fearful, Jeremiah suggests to God a sure supply of proof that "he's" not the man for the job.
After all, he's no more than a child.
He's looking to be excused.
Hmmm ...
God reconsiders:
Gosh, I'd never thought of that, Jeremiah.
Thanks for the reminder about your age.
I'd almost forgotten.
Maybe you're right.
Yes ... I think an aged person would be better.
Thanks for the input and insight.
I'll be back when you grow up and assign you a task within the priesthood realm.

Gosh and golly,
For landsakes people,
What must God think of us at times?
We are each and all:
Universally unnecessary for God to perform a single act.
But He loves us, chooses us, and uses us anyway.
Is this not a mighty marvel?
Indeed, it seems that the less we see of ourselves;
The more God determines to make of us.
He's not looking to develop glory because of us;
But to receive glory in spite of us.

God's holiness, righteousness, and power are the "essentials" necessary for the performance of all of His works.
Not one single thing does he need from man to fulfill His plan on earth.
Not one of us is deemed indispensable for HIs word and work to prosper.
Not one.
Maybe you come to Christ feeling like a failure on a lot of fronts.
Maybe you feel the urge to remind Him of all that you're not.
Indeed, maybe "others" have tried to do that for you and to you.
Can I speak a grace-filled truth to you, dear one?
God doesn't call the qualified;
He qualifies the called.

Quit reminding yourself of who you are and all you're not;
And bank on God like He's all you've got.
God will walk you into a calling you could have never imagined because that's who HE is.
God's "card" always trumps. He's the Ace that prevails and His plan never fails. He'll make good on the life He has planned for you and He'll make good on the promise He's made to you.
God will make good on receiving glory in spite of you.
Read, meditate, and memorize 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 and get His realities into you.
To the praise of God's glory.
Three Study Considerations:
1) Your excuses are rubbish.
Quit using them.
2) God is faithful.
Trust in Him.
3) Counter the lies and attacks of Satan with the truth and faithfulness of God.
His word will prevail and never fail you.
