You and me,
simple little wooden sticks.
Nothing more and nothing less.
We're all the same.
We sit in a "Diamond" box and wait for the great Matchstick Maker to do something with us.
He's the determinant of when He'll strike the light,
Where He'll place the light,
And what He'll do with the light.
God is the Matchstick Maker and the Matchstick Striker.
We can try to make something of ourselves
 but in doing so,
we will only succeed in creating a tiny mound of ash,
 and a burned up stick.
Lifeless matchstick.
We weren't made for the glory of our own light.
We were made to cast light on the Father ... and for the Father.
We were made to shine brightly for the glory of God.
The Matchstick Maker makes us give off light and without Him, there can be no light at all.
To be held, struck, and ignited by His hand is a holy and sacred experience.
Nothing compares.
To give off light to another in their darkness,
to bear witness to the hand holding us,
is a glory to great for words.
Little matchstick,
Your time will come.
Your light will shine forth,
the God of all glory will ignite you.
The Father will shed His light through you,
the glory of God will be seen.
Trust and lay still in His hand.
And soon ...
the light.
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
