Naked – Uncovered, unsheathed, unadorned, unarmed, defenseless.
The soul that comes to God in such a state will be clothed.
God doesn’t need any of our finery;
He doesn’t need an intelligent mind,
a beautiful face,
an eloquent tongue,
an attractive body,
a title behind the name,
or money in the account.
He sets His holy eye on the needy one,
the hurting one,
the broken one,
the empty one,
the searching one,
the naked and exposed one ...
And He loves that “one.”
And on that one He adorns an internal raiment superior to earth’s finest,
In that one He finds delight and anoints with His Spirit,
Over that one He provides a canopy of grace,
And before that one He goes ahead.
God is not afraid of an altered, broken, damaged, fragmented life;
Come as you are … and He will clothe you.
“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness...”
