OCTOBER 11: TODAY'S RHEMA

TODAY'S RHEMA:

John 10 and Psalm 10
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

The word "Rhema" is a special and uncommon word reserved for a special utterance. How beautifully it attaches itself to our Savior's words, who gives us life-giving Rhema words daily, hourly, and moment by moment.
We weave our "three strand" study format into our communion with Christ in order to become empowered, engaged, and employed for His service.
1) PRAYER
Faithful Shepherd,
Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a place before me in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Thy hand shall lead me, guide me, and deliver me.
Thy hand shall prevail in all that pertaineth to me.
Thy word is good,
Thy hand is sure,
Thou speakest peacably and favorably to me.
Hallelujah and Amen.
(Psalm 23 in enlisted and brought by the Spirit's power into this prayer.)

2) TODAY'S READ:
John 10 and Psalm 10
The "Oreo" practice of situating the creamy white of the Gospel into the blessed wafers of the Psalm is deliciously addictive and habit forming.
Taste and see for yourself.
Psalm 10 ---> John 10 ---> Psalm 10

3) RECORD

Select one truth from each of the chapters and record them together. Ask the Holy Spirit to weave additional passages of His word into you while you're reading, and enjoy an intimately expanding thread of fellowship as He leads you.
This is a pleasurable and meaningful practice of intimacy between one's soul and God ... and profoundly personal.
Here's the beginning of my thread:
"Lord, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble; Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of earth may no more oppress."
Psalm 10:17-18
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand. My Father, which gave them Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand."
John 10:27-29
"Lord, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble; Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of earth may no more oppress."
Psalm 10:17-18

Additional Threads:
Psalm 10:17-18 ---> 1 Peter 5:4-10
John 10:27-29 ---> Hebrews 13:5-8
Psalm 10:17-18 ---> Psalm 23
------
Today's Rhema leads to three provoking thoughts. How gently the word falls into place this day.
Simple. Soft. Stirring.
1) The child of God is appointed the preservation of God until cometh his God.
2) The hand of God is secure and the word of God is sure;
No man preventing.
3) The Good Shepherd knows His own ... and His own know Him.
Discernment and wisdom shall grow in accordance with time and nearness to Him.
Fondness and affection for the Good Shepherd will spur and spawn heart worship and soul satisfaction.
Such a mystery ...
God's love for you and me.
Never changing. Never ending.
And through Eternity.
Amen.
