Psalm 22 (With our completion of John, we'll continue on in Psalms).

 By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Merciful Father,
How relieving it is to find myself at the depth of imperfection with You.
The place where there are no secrets,
No lies,
No hiding places.
The place of simple nakedness;
Where I'm with You and You're with me,
and Your life is beating through me and empowering me:
Where the sordid and confessed inconsistencies of my yesterday lend themselves to an introduction to "another's" brokenness and needs today.
Where the tokens of yesterday's graces poured out on me so liberally, now become usefully and liberally poured out on the needs of "another" today.
Cause me to identify deeply with another, Father, in order that a manifestation of Your glory be clearly observed.
Let a broken, weary, sin-stained, scarred up soul be brought into my presence this day and teach me how to love ... like You love me.
The comfort I derive and the grace I have laid claim to steadies my soul and readies my spirit for service to You, Father.
Employ me and put to use my impassioned desires for You.
Use my voice, my hands, my feet, and my passions for the good of another and the glory of Your name.
Today's Reading:
Psalm 22:7-10 ---> Psalm 22:22-25
"All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head saying, 'He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver him, seeing He delighted in Him.' But Thou art He that took me out of the womb; Thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. I was cast upon Thee from the womb; Thou art my God from my mother's belly."
Psalm 22:7-10
"I will declare Thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee. Ye that fear the Lord, praise Him! All ye, the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all ye seed of Israel. For He hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath He hid His face from him; but when He cried unto Him, He heard.
My praise shall be of Thee in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before them that fear Him."
Psalm 22:22-25
Additional Threads:
Psalm 22:7-10 ---> Jer.1:5-10 ---> Psalm 139
Psalm 22:22-25 ---> 2 Chron.6 -7:1-3
What truths do you see?
Record three.
A thread of my own:
1) The sure defense of the child of God belongs to the Father God.
Let Him rescue, defend, and deliver as He deems notable and purposeful for His glory.
From the womb He shall uphold and reveal "His" merciful story.
2) The tenderness of the Father envelops the most downtrodden of children.
Indeed, His promise to never cast-out, cast-away, or cast-aside the wounded seeker, speaks to the mission of His mercy and love.
The tenderness and lovingkindness of the Father has no end.
3) Merciful praise shall spring forth from the lips of those who have obtained mercy.
May the flow of such mercy be eminently displayed to a love starved world.
May the flow of the Father's mercy run richly through my life and into another.
