Psalm 23
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Tender Shepherd and Gentle Father,
This day unfolds with peoples and plans unknown and untold before me.
Comfort me with the security of Your presence.
Protect me with the sovereign watch of Your eye.
Council me with wisdom from Your word.
Separate me from evil and purge my sinful soul and make it clean.
Prosper me in earthly undertaking;
Grant me special and unusual favor with needed individuals (and only You know who those individuals are).
 Procure and condition my spirit with the effects of Your grace.
Let the lost and lonely find their way to me that I might love them to You,
and that You might love them through me.
This day is going to tell a future story.
This day is Yours and I belong ,,,
 in pastures fair.
Today's Reading:
Psalm 23:1 ---> Psalm 23:6
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want."
Psalm 23:1
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6
Additional threads:
Psalm 23:1 ---> 1 Peter 5:4-10
Psalm 23:6 ---> Isaiah 17:15
What truths do you see?
Record three.
A thread of my own:
1) God is our loving attendant and faithful Shepherd through this life and into the next.
When His presence becomes our chief provision our souls find rest no matter where we find ourselves ... and we retire all earthly "wanting."
2) Sandwiched between vs.1 and vs.6 are all the blessed provisions and entitlements afforded and attending us.
Consider what the good Shepherd "actively" procures for us:
-He maketh ... when we don't know how to make of anything ourselves.
-He leadeth (x2) ..
. when we're lost and haven't a clue where we ought to be going.
-He restoreth ...
when we're broken and shattered.
-Thou preparest ...
when we are deserving of nothing.
-Thou anointest ...
when the time is of Thy willing.
Slicing through every difficulty, doubt, and fear on earth is the absolute and sovereign presence of our good Shepherd.
 He determines, dictates, and decides the course of men, no man preventing.
His absolute rule and authority are administered and appointed with perfect justice and everlasting mercy.
Acting as both King and Shepherd,
He separates, divides, and appoints with His rod ...
The divine acts of God.
And to Him ... all praise is due Him.
3) When the child of God entrusts Himself to the care of God;
His world is altared, afforded, and attended with very special and unique graces.
The good Shepherd, Himself, attending.
Green pastures and still waters are his lot;
with the presence of his Shepherd in his midst.
The little lamb's gain.
Mmmm ...
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23:6
