SONG OF THE CICADA

SONG OF THE CICADA
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

The song of the cicada on the prairie;
 the incessant hum and sound of note like a strand of curiously vibrating electricity.
Acoustic harmonicity.
The shaven pulse of highs and lows keeping rhythm with the night;
the soft of globe, a helium orb, and the language of light.
The soul of the poet is soothed and calmed,
 the thoughts of the mind are gently enbalmed,
with song on the prairie.
The wind blows soft and the air is sweet,
I sit outside ...
and my thoughts are deep.
I listen hard and I drink in deep,
 the refrain of the prairie ...
And the peaceful song of the cicada.
