STEADY THE SAILOR

STEADY THE SAILOR
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

Christ loves unconditionally,
Settles us positionally,
Satisfies us supernaturally,
Extends grace and mercy lavishly.
And still …
We flounder about,
Flit about,
Wander about,
Reel about …

Like drunken sailors on a wild and angry sea.
----
Why does restlessness,
Carelessness,
Casualness,
Selfishness
Attach itself so quickly to the soul?
How can we be lax,
Lazy,
Blurry,
Hazy,
Yet possess such realities untold?
----
O God ….
Keep us on course,
Keep us on fire,
Fill us with hope,
And godly desire.
Keep us on task,
Keep us in tune,
Keep us in time,
Returning to You.

Steady the sailor, still the sea;
Keep lavishing grace, unconditionally ...
‘Til we’re home.
----
“They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and they are at wits' end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven."
Psalm 107:27-30
