THE MIRROR

THE MIRROR
By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

A mirror …
Reveals,
Reflects,
Receives

An image.
Translates the image visually.
~~~
A mirror doesn’t ….
Lie,
Deceive,
Pretend,
Retrieve,
Portray
What doesn’t exist.
~~~
May not like
The thing you see;
What you wish,
Or
Want to be …
The mirror reflects reality …
Remains.
~~~
God holds a mirror up
To our lives;
Sometimes someone
In disguise …
Reflecting back the soul.
Sometimes look
And
Sometimes don’t …
Sometimes just refuse
And won’t
Accept reality:
you reflecting me.
~~~
Someone present
In your space;
Reflects a you
Beyond the face;
Don’t turn the other way.
The mirror has much to say.
~~~
Hold the mirror up
Close to you;
Do its work,
Reflect in you …
What’s hidden in your soul.
The one in whom
 the
Flaws you find;
Is likely feeling
Quite confined …
By looking back at you.
Unpleasant … but it’s true.
~~~
God wants to rearrange
Your soul;
Make it true,
Complete,
And
Whole.
He'll never turn away.
The Father's eyes convey ...
A message back,
Reflecting grace;
Eyes that see beyond the face,
And penetrate the soul.
~~~
When the mirror
Is held to you …
God exposes "you" to you ...
And then reveals
His face ….
And that’s the thing
 Called grace.
“As a father pities His children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:13-14
