White Bells are the name I gave to the lovely flowers in my friends' backyard.
Surprising me with a display to contribute to my own colorful landscape, I was gifted with transplants of my own.
Setting forth to make room for them in the soil, I shoveled out a generous little "ditch" and poured a generous serving of water in it.
I attacked the project in a feverish fury and fervor familiar to those who know me.
The transplanting was a wonderful success but the smell was outstanding.
Fresh manure and fertilizer could be smelled to the outskirts of the city and the humidity seemed to double the contribution of intense aroma wafting from my beautiful little garden.
An aromatic mental note planted itself firmly into my head as to a likely explanation for the previous owner's superior plant growth.
Interestingly, it wasn't the transplanting that gave me trouble;
It was the "after-transplanting" part.
The part where I was trying to get the smell of manure out of my heavily saturated hands, which had labored without gloves, quite intensely.
The smell would not, would not, would not come out.
Every little tip provided me by friends, plus a few creative ideas of my own (which only my client and family members shall ever be privy too) was employed.
I still stunk.
Hmmm ...
What to do when we don't know what to do?
Google search generally offers excellent support.
I applied the question and Google kindly supplied me with the remedy:
Locating a small jar in my medicine cabinet I applied the greasy, waxy rub in massive doses to my hands, rubbed them firmly, and washed them off.
Amazingly, the stink was removed,
The problem was solved,
The remedy prescribed was proven sufficient.
Hmmm ...
If a better comparable to sin and its stink exists, I'm not sure what it would be.
Sin in the soul stinks like manure in the hands.
Nothing works to get rid of it.
You can smell it in your pores and you can smell it coming out of you.
And if you can't smell it at all,
That's because you've been in it too long and that's the worst stink of all.
The stink of sin has to be dealt with and Google doesn't have the solution to the sin issue.
Only God has that.
God has provided the "Vicks Vapor Rub" needed to clear and cleanse the soul and that "Rub" is His Son's blood.
The blood of Christ is the remedy that cleanses the soul of sin.
No matter how dark, deep, steep, black, and stinky;
The blood of Christ, when once applied cleanses entirely.
I don't know how God does it;
I just know that He does it,
And that's good enough for me.
It truly works.
Take your sin and its stink to Jesus and do what He tells you to do, dear reader.
Respond obediently, decisively, and immediately.
Apply the blood,
Its sin's only remedy.
Mmmm ....
There's nothing like the "Rub" and blood of Jesus.
"I even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins."
Isaiah 43:25
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17
