THROUGH THE RAIN

Yesterday I took a refreshing walk in the rain.
I put on my rain gear and donned my rain-proof wool hat and away I went.
Instead of five miles, I walked six.
I talked to God a long time in the rain and He stirred up the words of a very old song in me that I thought I'd quite forgotten.
I sang it out loud in the rain ...
And I cried.

I MADE IT THROUGH THE RAIN
By: Barry Manillow

We dreamers have our ways
 Of facing rainy days
And somehow we survive
We keep the feelings warm
Protect them from the storm
Until our time arrives
Then one day the sun appears
And we come shining through those lonely years

I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it through the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through

When friends are hard to find
And life seems so unkind
Sometimes you feel afraid
Just aim beyond the clouds
And rise above the crowds
And start your own parade
Cuz when I chased my fears away
That's when I knew that I could finally say

I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it through the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
... I made it through the rain ...

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

We make it through the rain ...
To walk with others.
