• A SACRIFICIAL MOMENT

    A SACRIFICIAL MOMENT
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    Was God of all the universe,
    Excited Christmas Day?
    Did He see the baby Jesus
    In the manger full of hay?

    Did He see the mother Mary,
    When she held Him in her arms?
    Did He see her kiss Him gently,
    Hold Him close and keep Him warm?

    Did He watch the shepherds coming,
    Closely following the star?
    Did He see as wise men followed,
    Traveling from a land afar?

    Did He see the baby Jesus?
    Did He see the tiny King?
    Or did He see His precious Son,
    That He loved more than anything?

    The excitement of the moment,
    All the human eye can see:
    Was a sacrificial moment;
    Christ would die for you ... and me.

    Giving all; receiving nothing,
    What a gift on Christmas Day;
    When the God of all creation,
    Placed our Savior in the hay.

    Merry Christmas.

  • HEARTBEAT OF CHRISTMAS

    HEARTBEAT OF CHRISTMAS
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    Fearful,
    Fickle,
    Frail.

    Man’s traits.
    Fearless,
    Faultless.
    Faithful.

    God’s traits.
    ~~~
    Every day we rise…
    To these realities.
    Shown a glimpse,
    Sometimes more
    Of who we are,
    What we are,
    Apart from Him.
    ~~~
    Someone’s reading this.
    Tempted to
    Give up,
    Slip up,
    Mess up,
    Hang it up.

    God speaks to you.
    Desires to:
    Hold you up,
    Stand you up,
    Clean you up,
    Help you up.

    Love on you.
    ~~~
    Christmas introduced
    A Savior.
    Blessed is the one
    Who recognizes…
    His need to be saved.
    ~~~
    God will be faithful.
    He has promised.
    Desires to replace:
    Fearfulness with Faithfulness.
    Weakness with Strength.
    Sadness with Gladness.
    Hopelessness with Hope.

    This is the heartbeat of Christmas.
    You are the reason Christ came.

    “Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son,
    And they shall call His name Emmanuel,
    Which being interpreted is,
    God with us.”

  • PURE AND PURPOSED

    PURE AND PURPOSED
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    8) But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 9) Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. 10) And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, ‘I fear the lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink; for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? Then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king.’ 11) Then said Daniel to Melzar whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. 12) ‘Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat and water to drink. 13) Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenances of the children that eat of the portion of the king’s meat; and as thou sees, deal with thy servants.’ 14) So he consented to them in this manner, and proved them ten days. 15) And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat. 16) Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them pulse. 17) As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
    Daniel 1:8-17

    There is nothing like conviction to change the course and the destiny of an individual’s life.
    Daniel asserted his convictions over details that many would find unnecessary and undesirable, but then, Daniel was one of those people that really didn’t care what “the many” thought. His life was lived in communion with the Lord and his uncompromising convictions were based and established through that communion; hence, his provoking leadership ability.
    Throughout his life and throughout the book of Daniel we read of an individual who was sold out and committed to his relationship and service for God regardless of cost. Whether it was daily bread or daily prayer, his conduct remained unaltered by the thoughts and lifestyles of others.
    Daniel was decidedly different.
     Daniel was pure and purposed.
    Similarly, God has not called you to be like others but to be set apart from others and to live a free and God glorifying life.
    Steep yourself in the word, stay committed to the course, and live your life in the context of communion with Him; this is a life that’s decidedly different.
    This is a life that's pure and purposed.

    OVERWHELMED
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    Be more overwhelmed by the grace of God,
    Than the test you face today.
    Be more overwhelmed by the word of God,
    Than the words you hear men say.
    When you stand alone then stand in Him,
    And He says, “I’ll be your stay.”
    Live in the grace that God provides,
    And be overwhelmed this day.”

  • ONE SMALL STEP

    ONE SMALL STEP
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    We live one day at a time,
    Unaware of how
    A single choice today….
    May eclipse or enhance,
    A reality in tomorrow.
    ~~~
    God honors,
    Observes,
    Anchors,
    Secures,
    The soul that takes
    Even one small step,
    Toward Him.
    ~~~
    In Fatherly fashion,
    He faithfully,
    Firmly,
    Forges
    His holy step,
    With our faltering
    Fickle one.
    ~~~
    Urging,
    Encouraging,
    Establishing,
    Enabling…
    He motions
    Applauding
    Desire.
    ~~~
    Father to child
    Arms extended.
    He calls,
    Restores,
    Incites,
    Implores....
    His child:
    To one step more.

  • SEARCHING FOR GRACE

    SEARCHING FOR GRACE
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    Words well written.
    Not my own.
    Author unknown.
    Individual like me…
    Reaching,
    Realizing,
    Recognizing,

    The DNA of a sinner
    Searching for grace
    And the myriad of sins
    to be reckoned with.
    ~~~
    Father forgive …
    “My failure to be true to my own accepted standards.
    My self-deception in face of temptation.
    My choosing of the worse when I know the better.
    O Lord, forgive.
    My failure to apply myself the standards of conduct I demand of others.
    My blindness to the suffering of others and my slowness to be taught by my own.
    My complacency towards wrongs that do not touch my own case and my over-sensitiveness to those that do.
    My slowness to see the good in my fellows and to see the evil in myself.
    My hardness of heart towards my neighbors’ faults and my readiness to make allowances for my own.
    My unwillingness to believe that Thou has called me to a small work and my brother to a great one.
    O Lord, forgive.”
    ~~~
    The Savior’s DNA,
    The holy blood…
    Perfects,
    Pardons,
    Purifies,
    Permeates,
    Penetrates,

    The soul of the sinner,
    And the sinner is cleansed.
    Worshipful wonder.
    Amazing grace.
    Holy DNA
    Piercing the vein of the sinner.

  • WALK THIS WAY

    WALK THIS WAY
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt

    Walk this way, this narrow way,
    And come along with me;
    Join the throng of Ancients,
    That have marched triumphantly.

    Find the sacred parting path,
    That kindred souls have trod,
    And earnestly contend with those,
    Who knew the living God.

    This the quest and journeyed path,
    Of God pursuing Saint,
    To step with steady stride and cast aside,
    All earth’s restraint.
    ~~~
    Thus says the Lord, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it;
    Then you will find rest for your souls.”
  • SIMPLY THANKFUL
    SIMPLY THANKFUL
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt
    For things I would have wanted not,
    Yet things I would not change;
    For much that’s come into my life,
    And much that’s rearranged.
    For lessons learned and trials sent,
    For heartache and for pain;
    For mountains hard to navigate,
    For new and straight terrain.
    For holy hands that hold my own,
    And One who knows my way;
    For transformation taking place,
    And mercy every day.
    For pure and undefiled love,
    And nothing left to chance;
    For sifting every detail of my life,
    Through holy hands.
    For things I would have wanted not,
    Yet things I would not change;
    I’m thankful, simply thankful,
    For the “much” that’s rearranged.
    ATTITUDE
    By: Darrelyn L. Tutt
    Countless things
    Uncontrollable.
    Attitude isn’t one of them.
    From the time you rise
    To the time
    Your head hits the pillow....
    You get to choose
    Your attitude.
    You may be immersed
    In worst case scenario,
    Difficult circumstance,
    Adverse trial,
    Painful encounter.
    Still you choose,
    Your attitude.
    Grumpy,
    Grouchy,
    Grateful,
    Gracious,
    Negative,
    Positive,
    Critical,
    Irritable,
    Thankful,
    Thoughtful,
    Cheerful,
    Hopeful.
    You decide.
    Attitude permeates…..
    People.
    Places.
    Trials.
    Spaces.
    And above all …
    It permeates you.
    You get to
    Choose
    Your attitude;
    Your attitude doesn't choose you.
